Fridgetrotter Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Fridgetrotter mobile app (the "app"), developed by Ethemoğlu Mühendislik Ltd. Şti. (Kocaeli, Türkiye; "we" or "us"). By downloading and using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

How we handle your data is explained separately in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

1. What Fridgetrotter does

Fridgetrotter suggests recipes based on a photo of your fridge or the ingredients you type. The app also includes features such as the World Tour, "I have a dish in mind", Full menu, cooking mode, a shopping list and a daily reminder.

You don't need an account to use the app.

2. Recipes are created with AI

• Recipes, ingredient lists, cooking times and dish images are generated with artificial intelligence. We work hard to make them good, but they may contain mistakes.
• Dish images are illustrative. Your dish may look different from the picture.
• Recognizing ingredients from a fridge photo can also be wrong. You can review and correct the suggested list before asking for recipes.
• Recipes are not medical, diet or nutrition advice. Calories shown in recipes are an approximate estimate made by AI; they vary with the products you use and your portion size. Don't rely on them for diet or health decisions.

3. Kitchen safety and allergies

In the kitchen, the final call is yours: - If you have an allergy or food sensitivity, check every recipe's ingredients yourself. The app does not flag allergens and does not guarantee that a recipe is free of them. - Make sure meat, poultry, fish and eggs are thoroughly cooked, and that ingredients are fresh and within their use-by date. - Take the usual care with knives, stovetops, ovens and hot oil. Children should be in the kitchen with an adult. - Times and temperatures in the app are guidelines. They may vary with your stove and oven.

4. Rules of use

When using the app, you agree not to: - send photos of anything other than your fridge and food, especially photos of people, identity documents, or obscene or illegal content; - use the app or our server with automated tools, bulk requests or for unintended purposes, or try to bypass security measures and daily usage limits; - copy, reverse-engineer, modify or redistribute the app; - try to obtain ad rewards by cheating; - misuse "Wrong image?" reports.

We apply daily request limits to protect our server. If we notice these rules are being broken, we may limit or stop access from the device involved.

5. Photos you send

Your fridge photos are used only to recognize ingredients and are not stored. Details are in the Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the right to take and share the photos you send.

6. Shared recipe book

Recipes and dish images created in the app are saved, without any information about who requested them, in a shared recipe book everyone can benefit from. This way, other users who ask for the same dish benefit from the recipe too. You agree that you don't claim personal rights over these recipes and images.

7. Intellectual property

The Fridgetrotter name, logo, design, software and in-app texts belong to us. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Cooking the recipes in your own kitchen and sharing them with family and friends is of course welcome 🍳

8. Free use and ads

Fridgetrotter is free. Some features unlock after you watch a short rewarded ad. If the ad doesn't load or isn't watched to the end, the feature doesn't unlock. Ads are shown by Google AdMob; advertisers are responsible for the content of their ads.

9. Premium membership

Premium is coming soon. Once available, these rules apply:

• Premium is an auto-renewing subscription offering ad-free use and extra features. Monthly and yearly options are available. Current prices are shown on the purchase screen in your local currency.
• A 7-day free trial may be offered on the yearly plan. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins.
• Payments, cancellations and refunds are handled by Google Play or the App Store under their rules. We never see your payment details.
• You can cancel at any time in your store's subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep Premium until then.
• The store will notify you in advance of any price change.
• Since there is no account, Premium is tied to the store account you purchased with. If you reinstall the app, use "Restore purchases" to get your membership back.

10. Changes and interruptions

We may add, change or remove features to improve the app. Due to maintenance, internet issues or outages at our service providers, the app may occasionally not work. We don't guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation, but we try to fix problems as quickly as possible.

11. Limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from following the recipes, the choice of ingredients, allergic reactions, kitchen accidents or the app being unavailable. This section does not affect liability that cannot be limited by law or the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

12. Age limit

Fridgetrotter is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before buying Premium.

13. Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If you have a Premium membership, uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription; use your store's subscription settings to cancel.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts and enforcement offices of Kocaeli have jurisdiction over disputes. As a consumer, your right to apply to the consumer arbitration committee or consumer court where you live, within legal limits, is reserved. If you live in another country, the mandatory consumer rights of that country also apply.

15. Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we will publish the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. We will also announce important changes in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
