Fridgetrotter Privacy Policy

Fridgetrotter (the "app") is developed by Ethemoğlu Mühendislik Ltd. Şti. (Kocaeli, Türkiye). This policy explains what information is processed when you use the app, and why.
In short: We keep recipes, not people.
1. No account, no personal details
You don't need an account to use Fridgetrotter. We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.
2. Fridge photos and ingredients
- When you take a photo of your fridge or type your ingredients, this information is sent to our server only to suggest recipes to you.
- Photos are not stored. They are deleted once the ingredients have been identified.
- Recipe suggestions are created with artificial intelligence. For this, the photo and the ingredient list are sent to our service provider OpenAI. OpenAI does not use this data to train its models; it may keep it for up to 30 days to prevent abuse, and then deletes it.
3. Recipes are not linked to you
Recipes and dish images that are created are saved in a shared recipe book that everyone can use. These records do not contain who requested or who cooked a recipe.
4. Device ID and abuse prevention
- The app creates a random device ID for your phone. This ID is not linked to your name, phone number or your phone's hardware details. If you delete and reinstall the app, a new one is created.
- This ID and your internet (IP) address are used only to: protect our server against overuse (daily request limits), stop dish counters ("cooked X times", "N people cooking right now") from being inflated from the same phone, and limit "Wrong image?" reports.
- These counter records are deleted automatically within 7 days at the latest.
5. What stays on your phone
My Recipes (Today, Saved, Cooked), your shopping list, fridge magnets, fridge color and reminder settings are stored only on your phone. They are not sent to our server.
6. Ads
Ads in the app are shown by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your phone's advertising ID to show and measure ads. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off personalized ads in your phone's settings. Details: Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent form before ads are shown. You can change this choice at any time in My Fridge › Settings › Ad privacy options.
No ads are shown to Premium members.
7. Usage statistics and crash reports
To improve the app, we collect non-identifying usage statistics (for example, which screens are used) and crash reports with Google Firebase. This information does not identify you personally.
8. Notifications
The daily reminder is scheduled by your phone itself. You choose the time, and you can turn it off at any time in My Fridge › Settings. Cooking timer alarms are also scheduled on your phone. None of these settings are sent to our server.
9. Our service providers
- Cloudflare: server, database and image storage
- OpenAI: recipe and image generation
- Google (AdMob, Firebase, Google Play): ads, statistics, app distribution and payments
10. Deleting your data
With no account, deleting is easy: - Just uninstall the app. All Fridgetrotter data on your phone (your recipes, shopping list, magnets) is deleted. - Counter records linked to the device ID on our server are deleted automatically within 7 days at the latest. - Recipes and images in the shared recipe book are not linked to you, so they are not personal data.

11. Children
Fridgetrotter is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

13. Changes
If we update this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
